Understanding the Different Cash Flow Metrics in Valuation
Source: Corporate Finance Institute
There are many different cash flow metrics that analysts use when valuing companies.
There is EBITDA, Cash Flow (also referred to as Operating Cash Flow), Free Cash Flow, Free Cash Flow to the Firm (Unlevered Free Cash Flow) and Free Cash Flow to Equity (Levered Free Cash Flow).
This image is the best I've seen that deciphers the differences between each cash flow metric and helps understand how to calculate each one.
To get a better understanding of each cash flow metric, I suggest going to the following site: https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/knowledge/valuation/cash-flow-guide-ebitda-cf-fcf-fcff/
